Goals vs. Projections
IN THIS LESSON
One of the biggest mistakes we see—over and over again—is that nonprofit boards, CEOs, and fundraisers don’t actually know the difference between goals and projections.
It sounds simple, but getting this wrong can cost an organization millions in lost fundraising potential and contribute to high fundraiser turnover.
So here’s the deal:
Goals are where you want to be—the big, audacious vision that fires up your team.
Projections are the reality check—the number you actually expect to land based on the facts.
Get them mixed up, and you either set your team up for disappointment or play too small when you should be swinging big.
